4:59 Kindergarten Names (take 2)
Updated video--there was a mistake in the first one!
Uploaded Sep 17, 2013
The students loved making up these name poems. We did each child's poem as they took turns being our Name of the Day. Each student thought of something that started with the same letter has his/her name and then picked one logo (environmental print) from the bottom that they could read. I saved all of the poems we created and then the students individually met with Mrs. Brooks (technology teacher) for a couple minutes to read their own poem for this video. I know it is a little long, but your kindergartner will be SO excited to see this! -

00:20 Happy Song
Each week in Kindergarten, we will be learning a new poem. This week's poem was Happy Song. Through our poems, we work on fluency, identifying sight words and other areas of emergent reading, such as one-to-one correspondence and rhyme. I hope you enjoyed hearing this poem from your child over the weekend!

00:08 Silkworms
Our silkworms have emerged from their cocoons! During the last month of school, we watched our silkworms munch on lots of mulberry leaves. They went through the transformation from the larvae stage to pupa stage by forming a cocoon around themselves. When school dismissed last week, Ms. Webb took wonderful care of our cocoons. This week, several of them emerged into silk moths! Enjoy this short clip of our silk moths.
