1:02 Sticky Tongues
Third graders simulated what can happen to frog eggs in their environment by using a straw as a predator, a paper plate as the environment and tapioca pudding as frog eggs. Later, students toured the science lab to collect data of the vertebrates: guinea pigs, fish and toad. After that, these young scientists simulated how a frog catches flies using a blower and plastic flies. Conclusions were drawn about how vertebrates are adapted to survive in their environments.

1:02 Screaming Skulls Lab
Fourth graders observed "Screaming Skulls" for clues as to whether the animal was a predator or prey, whether it was nocturnal or diurnal, and whether it was an omnivore, herbivore or carnivore. A lot of great work by these detectives determined solutions to the mysteries.

First graders used soil towers to separate and investigate soil components comparing sizes of clay, sand, silt and pebble. They created slides for a micro-viewer using sands from Florida and Grand Cayman to observe sizes, shapes and colors. They weathered dirt clods to simulate how the earth creates soil. They drew insightful conclusions as they compared soil parts in their conclusion.
