  This week, the students engaged in a math workshop. The students loved working with a buddy to answer a "juicy" word problem. They answered the problem in multiple ways and spent time explaining their answer in detail on a poster. On Thursday, the students took a 'gallery walk' to view these posters while making notes and wonderings. Enjoy a short video of students participating in this gallery walk!

  During our word work block each afternoon, students grow in their understanding of various word patterns. Using a variety of tools, students learn spelling patterns that are individualized to their current needs. Students are able to apply their knowledge of word patterns to their reading and writing.
