Let it Snow! by Lillian Jones

For this project, students connected their art and library lessons about the artist and illustrator, Eric Carle. After reading "Hello, Red Fox", and "The Very Hungry Caterpillar", in the library, students were able to experiment with Eric Carle's process of creating textured, painted papers. Back in the art studio, students cut shapes and put them together to assemble their house design. White paint was added to create the snowy scene. Finally, students made STEAM connections by learning stop motion animation. They utilized this technology to make it look like it is really snowing in their picture! Stay tuned for more movie clips to be posted in the coming weeks.
