Armstrong has a wonderful registered nurse, Crystal Hunt, who joined Armstrong this year as the school nurse.

Our nurse is part of our team in caring for your child while at school. She is trained to handle emergencies, provide first aid, and also perform hearing and vision screening for kindergarten, 1st and 3rd grade and all new to district students. Crystal also provides health care for students with special needs, allowing children to function well within the classroom and to be safe and well cared for during their school day.

Health lessons are taught to the students and staff by the nurse throughout the year. Additionally, the nurse ensures immunization compliance for all our students under Texas state law.

If your child has a special health need, such as diabetes, seizure disorder, anaphylactic food allergies, etc., please email or call our school nurse to arrange a time before school starts to discuss your child's needs. There will also be forms outside the clinic for you to fill out if your child needs to take a prescription or over the counter medication while at school. Some of these forms will need to be filled out by your child's doctor or signed by the doctor.

Nurse Crystal Hunt works 7:45 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. each school day. The Clinic opens at 7:50 a.m. This is to give time for Crystal to get set up to successfully meet the needs of all of the children that will come into the clinic that day.

Please keep your cell phones close to you even if they are on silent! Crystal may text you regarding your child should they become ill, need medication or have an emergency during the school day!
