Highland Park Independent School District Mission

The Highland Park Independent School District, with an unyielding commitment to excellence, provides an exceptional academic program that recognizes the unique potential of each student and integrates the intellectual, social, cultural, and physical aspects of learning.

This program empowers each student to become an eager lifelong learner committed to academic excellence, integrity, responsible citizenship, and service to others.

Armstrong Elementary School Mission

Recognizing the special and specific individual needs of elementary students, Armstrong Elementary School seeks to provide a positive and nurturing environment and flexible structure which enables children to grow and experience daily success.  We will instill in each student a sense of community responsibility and the importance of life-long learning.  This nurturing environment will foster risk-taking, individuality, and self-discipline, and will encourage children to realize their potential emotionally, socially, physically, morally, and academically.

We believe

  • children's passions are fostered through social, emotional, and intellectual experiences,
  • children deserve a safe, nurturing, and child-centered environment, and
  • engaging children through choice in collaborative and independent work makes them feel successful.  Therefore,

Our vision is

  • for parents, teachers, and students to create a learning community where all children reach their individual potential.
