About Mrs. Pinkston
I am so excited about teaching at Armstrong this year! I went to the University of Arkansas for my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Childhood Education. This is my fifth year teaching - I taught kindergarten for two years and this is my third year teaching second grade. I grew up going to school in HPISD so I am super excited to be back in my hometown teaching in a district that had such a positive impact on my childhood.
I recently got married in April and my husband and I have a black lab named Oakley. I love spending time outdoors, traveling, reading, spending time with friends and going to see movies.
I grew up knowing I would be a teacher one day, and I accredit that to the amazing relationships I had with my teachers. Because of this, my first priority is building a relationship with each of my students and making sure they feel safe and celebrated in our classroom. I want all of my students to love coming to school each day, so I enjoy incorporating technology, hands on projects, and opportunities for every child to explore their learning interests. I have always loved learning and I want all of my students to be lifelong learners as well!
