Little yogis "namaste-ing" during our morning recess period! They LOVED it.
It's been a week full of high-quality literacy work, partner reading, and fun!
Pictures from our first visit to Alice's Garden. These kiddos have green thumbs, for sure!
The highlight of our week... meeting our second-grade buddies! We shared our "selfie" prototypes from the Makerspace with them and even read some of our favorite books together. Oh, what fun!
Using our five senses AND our Math brains to learn all about apples! We talked about the size, shape, and color of apples; how they smell and feel; and even cut them open and used our counting strategies to find out how many seeds were in each apple. Did you know that every apple has a different number of seeds?
And more from our first afternoon in the Makerspace! #STEAMatHP
An afternoon full of designing and creating in Kindergarten! We used real objects to tell about ourselves, took photos of our "selfie" prototypes and shared them with our classmates. You'd be amazed at what these little thinkers came up with!
Little mathematicians "counting the room" during our Math Workshop flex time. (Students love to put on a pair of glasses to help them focus on the task at hand!)
Scientists-in-training! We met our fearless Science Lab teacher and explored the wonders of the lab... with safety goggles in place, of course. :)
Meeting our librarian, Mrs. Riley, for the first time had us jumping up and down, literally! We played "Reading Popcorn" (picture!) and are thrilled for the future books we'll get to bring home.
Falling in love with "learn-about-the-world" books!
I am so proud of these little readers! They explored MANY books this week, shared the "wow!" pages with partners, and discovered that indeed, they are readers!
Waving goodbye to our first day of Kindergarten together!
Here is some information for the first day of Kindergarten!
