Week 25: February 20-24
See below the many great things happening in TAG.
Math: Perimeter and area: Students designed their dream house on grid paper and found the perimeter and area of the rooms in their house.
Explorations: NO SCHOOL MONDAY
Math: Perimeter and area continued. Students explored concepts of area and perimeter with pattern block challenges.
Explorations: This week in our toys unit, students finished researching the top toys of the decades. Mrs. Marek also shared her favorite toys from her childhood decade; the 1990s. The students even had a chance to play with some of her toys!
Math and Explorations: 4th grade students were immersed in writing this week as their homeroom classrooms held the Armstrong Adventure Writing Camp 2017. Luckily I was able to pop in a couple of classrooms to help with their writing skills!
**Next week, February 27-March 3, there will be NO TAG classes as 2nd-4th grade TAG testing will be administered in the TAG classroom. Current TAG students will stay in their homeroom each day for math and explorations. The homeroom teacher will offer differentiated lessons based on identified academic needs. During the math block, TAG students will have the benefit of participating in a grade level review of the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) which are the State Standards for learning.
