Week 13: November 14-18

Here's what we did in class this week:

2nd grade:
Math: Continued multiplication unit.
Explorations: Students learned about the Pulitzer Prize winning cartoonist, Rube Goldberg, who is best known for his zany invention cartoons. They started brainstorming their own zany invention that will help them complete the challenge of "snuffing a candle."

3rd grade:
Math:  Students investigated the use of remainders in division and interpreted their meaning in given real world situations.
Explorations: Students continued researching their heart topic of choice for our upcoming heart fair. More details to come later.

4th grade:
Math: Algebraic reasoning using coordinate graphs
Explorations: Now that students are experts of the enigma they researched, they are producing a short news broadcast about their enigma. They will film in Armstrong's green screen room when their script is complete.

All TAG math students have the option of participating in Greg Tang's Thanksgiving math challenge. They will bring home the challenge paper on Monday. The challenge is due back to school on Monday, November 28.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
