The Park Cities Historic and Preservation Society dedicated Armstrong Elementary as a Centennial Historic Landmark Nov. 10. Members of PCHPS, HPISD Trustees and administrators, students and community members were present for the unveiling of the commemorative plaque.
"We appreciate the Society's effort to commemorate significant landmarks in the Town of Highland Park during its centennial season," HPISD School Board President Leslie Melson said. "It is an honor for John S. Armstrong Elementary to represent the cornerstone of HPISD's academic excellence and we are grateful to the educators and families who have shared in this rich history of achievement."
Two other sites were dedicated following Armstrong's event: the Dallas Country Club and Highland Park Village.
